Most snakes in my experience will not eat cottonmouth

This would certainly be an interesting study. I don't know enough about kingsnakes to say for sure, but I do know that many snake-eating snakes refuse to eat cottonmouths as well as other water snakes (Thamnophis, Nerodia), probably because of the repellent musk these snakes exude.

Copperheads also musk, but somewhat less pungently (to my human nose, anyhow). I don't think their range overlaps that of the Florida kingsnake by very much, as coppers are only found in the extreme northern end of Florida.
