I've never been really afraid of snakes,but this weekend while cleaning out the flower bed a baby rattlesnake came out at me.The mother would be close by,right? I have two small kids.What can I do to make them go away? HELP!

BTW: there is a remarkable difference between poisonous and venomous (although only extremely pedantic people really get on you about that). A poisonous animal is technically one that contains substances toxic from eating or absorption through contact while a venom is delivered through an fang or similar structure.
