The "fear snake" is really called the "fierce snake" AKA the Inland Taipan; The deadliest snake in the world. No contradiction exists between crocodile hunter and national geographic. However there are 2 types of taipans; the fierce or inland taipan, and the taipan. The taipan is truly the most dangerous snake but the inland taipan has the strongest venom.

: : I Also WATCHED A WILDLIFE SHOW on National Geographic Explorer,where they claimed the most venomous snake in the world was a certain type of sea snake,then, a few weeks later i watched a show with "The Crocodile Hunter" and he claimed that the deadliest snake in the world was the "Fear Snake" from Australia.Needles to say, I'm confused,so,if you have or find the answer please drop me a line.
