Hmmph, I stay off the forum for a week, check in and what do I see but a picture of David Girk handling a rattlesnake, and alot of follow-up brouhaha. I've talked to David several times and have done business with him, and so now I get to see what he looks like in person. Would be interesting if we all posted pictures of ourselves, so we could see what the other folks looked like whom we love to jest with.

That being said, if you have a copy of "Cobras in His Garden" (Bill Haast's biography) you would see pictures of him, in his Boy Scout uniform, holding canebrake rattlesnakes. And you all know what to expect when old Steve Irwin shows up on the tube, so if Dave wants to show one photo of him holding a venomoid rattler, so what!

The bottom line is not to get bitten while working with your venomous animals. I do not feel a single snapshot is going to influence the masses to free-handle hot snakes thinking its safe and easy. Most don't even want to be bitten by their Ball pythons!
