: I have a biology question on the five basic types of venomous snakes in Texas, and I was wondering if anyone knew??????????
I don't quite understand your question, re: types??? I know of 15 venomous snakes in Texas. Elapidae: Texas coral snake (micrurus fulvius tenere). Viperidae: Western cottonmouth, Southern copperhead, Broad-banded copperhead,Trans-pecos copperhead, Western diamondback, Prarie rattlesnake, Timber (better known as Canebrake here) rattlesnake, Northern blacktail rattlesnake, Mojave rattlesnake (only in extreme west), Mottled-rock rattlesnake, Banded-rock rattlesnake, Western massasauga, Desert massasauga, and the Western pigmy rattlesnake.
