If I remember correctly, it was Renee who filed the complaint and won the court case.
I definately think that you should file a complaint and call the corporate office of the pet store. Sometimes those who have the idea to start a pet store actually like animals and want to treat them fairly, and somehow this gets lost in the corporate process. It is not right, but unfortunately, treating animals unfairly is not high on the list of priorities for most people like it is for you and I. I personally think that someone who intentionally mistreats an animal should face harsh punishment because those who will mistreat animals will most likely mistreat humans too. Even more upsetting is that these people have kids. And we wonder what is wrong with kids sometimes!
Don't think that just b/c you are 14 you can't do anything. When I was your age (which wasn't that long ago, I am only 21), I, along with a friend of mine, put together a campaign and stopped a very promising senate bill from passing and becoming a law by just speaking out. I wasn't even old enough to vote.
It's too bad that there aren't more people in the world who love animals!
