DAILY RECORD (Glasgow, UK) 28 November 02 Binmen's Snake Find
Two snakes found by shocked binmen have been named Dusty and Wheelie.
Workers rescued the reptiles near bins and have now given them a warm home in their council depot.
The milk snake, at almost 2 feet, and corn snake - 4 feet in length - have been named after former TV character Dusty Bin and a wheelie bin.
Aberdeen City Council maintenance engineer Jim Coutts, 47, left, is looking after the serpents.
He said: "They were stone cold but have warmed up and are full of life. They seem quite friendly."
It is not known if they were dumped or had escaped.
SSPCA inspector Alison Adam said: "It's unusual to find snakes in the cold but they have a habit of escaping."
