:So I will be abandoning the 'Glades, but I have great expectations of the new wildlife I will be encountering in TX, I looked up some information on Big Bend National Park

One of the the first things that will amaze you is the length of the drive from DFW to Big Bend. Bring a friend along to keep you awake!

and such, I'm all psyched about everything, but perhaps there is some sort of field guide you'd (any of you) would recommend that'd cover the vast wildlife (though more herp-related)?

:Also, what are the most usual species out there in the DFW area?

The most usual & umusal species in the DFW region are definetly the people...and lots of them.Welcome to the DFW area.

:thanks :)

JM - I'm sure there will be others who can offer more (& better)help as far as the field guide & herp clubs go.

Good Luck & have fun,
