Chris,
they are all over South Texas as well. It seems that you just have to flip for them instead of cruising for them like you can in W. Texas. I found 5 last week in Dimmit County under some boards and tin. I've also found them in Zavala, Maverick and Uvalde Counties. I don't keep them though. As far as road cruising, I've found up to 22 in one night on the river road in Brewster and Presidio Counties.
