You can if you wash your hands first. Hold the frog minimally. IF you are worried about the hands oils harming the frog, use a fish net. As long as hands are thoroughly rinsed and there is no soap residue left on the clean hands, it is fine for short periods of time. Good luck~Andy BTW, try not to pick up the tree frogs, but rather coax them onto your hand. They seem not to enjoy being grasped lol.
