Is anyone know if permits are required to sell or possess Macroclemys temmincki ( Alligator Snapping Turtle) here in the state of Texas. I know of an individual who has several that he would like to sell and he say that he can't sell them. I know that they are listed as threatened in the state of Texas but you can purchase them from other individuals without permits right? This individual said that you could bring them into Texas but once there here you couldn't sell them. I have 4 that I purchase from people on the internet and I have kept any paper work to show some proof that they were purchased not wild caught. I know that you can't catch them from the wild but I thought surely you should be able to purchase them from someone that has them that aren't wild caught. Any info? thanks Dan
