Hello

My (approximately) 18yr old RES, is showing signs of pitting, on carapace and plastron. They are not exactly holes through his shell, but holes that look more like scars, like they are only a bit of the way through his shell. There appears to be no infection and it doesnt seem to be getting worse or bothering him. What is the cause of this......what can i do to stop it or prevent it. His habitat is a 90gallon tall and wide tank, with proper lighting. The only difference I see in him, is he is really starting to prefer greens (and strawberrys, apples and grapes) over meat (live fish, snails etc).

Thanks for your time
