One of europes favorite pets, caspians are very tolerative of environmental factors such as cold, polution, and execessive heat or drought. They are also alert and active and eat everything. The males stay pretty small (5 inches).

:Hi, my fiancee has been interested in getting a turtle. We're new to turtles (not even sure we'll get any yet), but we're looking for some info.

:What is a good beginner turtle? She'd lke something relatively small (important) and something kinda pretty. She was thinking about a painted...no sliders.
:Also, everywhere I look, sliders seem to be in water tanks with tiny basking spots. Is there some speices that is more land based that could do with a smaller water zone? FYI we'd be doing an indoor aquarium setup. Could we make some sort of half land/half water set up?
