nope, dismantling will probably be required. Normally I'd say the turtle would do it, but I've never kept matas and I understand they wouldn't hunt in a way that would detect snails.

I'd suggest some larger fish that will eat snails to keep the population down, but then the mata might go for that, at least injuring it.

I think you are in a sticky (or slimey maybe) situation.
