:Great Site! The pics are great, with many species rarely photographed. I believe the small "Kachuga smithii" to be a Graptemys of the pulchra complex, probably gibbonsi. If it is not gibbonsi, and you still need a pic for the Graptemys page, I have a couple I can scan for you. -Damien
Hello Damien:
While there is a superficial resemblence betweeen Kachuga smithii (now Pangshura)and Graptemys I can assure you that this was indeed a Pangshura smithii. I not only took the photo myself but had others check to make certain. In addition Shawn of Turtle-Town who knows his aquatics much better than I also saw the same animal and agreed.
If you have photos of G. gibbonsi I would love to add them to the galleries (in fact any image of species we are missing) all we ask is that whoever submits photos took the photo themselves. I edit them to an ultra low resolution intentionally in order to reduce photo theft and of course credit the photographer with a tag. Our goal is to eventually have photos of all 460 plus species and subspecies.
thanks
Darrell
