i've thought about growing a spider plant in the tank, but it never seems to work. Should i just leave the plant in a pot or actualy bury it into the substrate? What would happen when I get new substrate and get rid of the old one. I've tried putting plants in pots in my tanks before but they all turned dark and died. I also don't have the special plant light, and don't really wannna buy one.

I'll probably use bed a beast and some grape vine and drift wood, and silk leaves wrapped around. I'm also trying to save money, would buying silk leaves from a supermarket be okay? i see no difference between the supermarket kind and the kind sold at petshops except the price.

thankyou
