Robert,
I purchase the acrylic from a plastics wholesaler and have them cut it to rough dimensions. I use a tablesaw with a high "tooth per inch" blade to make the finishing cuts as well as a circular saw with the same type blade. The doors are cut from a single piece using a scroll saw with blades designed to make smooth cuts in acrylic. The 24" cube pictured is made from 1/4" material and costs about $123.00 for materials. The bigger "breeder" cages are made out of 3/8" material and cost about $180.00 in materials.
