It's not vitally important, but the only thing I would suggest is rather than having the wooden dowels crossing in the middle like an "X", I would cut another one and put it parallel to the longer dowel with maybe 1/2" to 1" of space between them. Just in my own experience, this type of perch seems much more comfortable then the simple "crossbar" type; they seem to enjoy draping themselves over a larger area or being nested inbetween branches rather than being forced to grip singular small branches. Just a suggestion,
