:
: Join the Tortoise Trust and buy the book
: " Keeping & Breeding Tortoises" By AC Highfield
: I have had 3 hermans for over 5 years. they have never been sick and are very hardy.
: I live in the North east US and mine live outside from May to Sep. They have a heated house for cold nights, and they are smart enough to use it if needed. This is the only book you need , Treat it as the Tortoise bible.
: I use a heat tape out side, and Perlco ceramic flood type heater in doors. USE THEMOSTATS! They will like to heat up at least once a day, but other than that they seem to perfer 70 to 80 degrees and need to cool down at night minium of 60, max 75
: Good luck
