: Do you not think that all torts would be better off in their natural environment, as nature intended?
Let me think, hmm the ones in Asia are being killed and munched on by the millions. The ones in Madagascar are suffering the same fate. In other countries they are being killed off because of loss of habitat and what not. No I think they are better off in captivity.
: Only greed of man has sought to profit from these ancient animals.
Some folks are trying to save them.
: Sure there is enough bloodlines, how long do you intend to be around.
Not according to those in the know, who cares how long I am gonna be around, I am kind of worried about my future grand children. Will they ever get to see a live tortoise.
: IF any bloodlines run out, good, nature looks after it's own, & I'm sure by then intra-country dealing via zoos etc will have taken over the cb situation..
Zoos ain't doing much round here. I am sure not gonna put the existence of a species in my local zoos hands.
: If we act now there will be enough stock to last 100-200yrs, are you bothered about cb stock at the end of this period?
Then what?
