Tortise or Turtle? Which is friendlier?Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just wondering if I should get a tortise or a turtle. Basically, I just want to know if turtles (painted turtles) are as friendly as tortises. Do your turtles come up to you and eat out of your hand or do they hide in their shells? This is really important to me and I would love if you helped me out by telling me about your turtle or tortise. Thanx!!!
