:How large is your pen?

The three adults share an 8'x8' pen. The little one lives alone in a 6'x3' pen. Both pens have chickenwire/hardware cloth covers on hinged wooden frames.

:They breed for you.

Yes. 3 infertile eggs in 2001. 8 eggs and one hatchling in 2002. 13 eggs and waiting this year.


:Do you leave them out to hibernate?

No. The soil is too hard for them to dig deep enough, the temperatures are too low (down to less than sub-zero at times) and it is too damp. I bring them indoors in late September, early October, and by late November they go down on their own. I bring them up around February.
