I would say Russians for a beginner because they are small and very personable. Leopards get huge and need a lot more space, time, and money then a russian. Russians also need a lot of space, time and money but not as much as a leopard. Hope this helps. :)

:just curious , as a beginner tortoise whats more reccomended a leopard or a russian tortise....or is thier something even better than these 2?
:not a beginner herper, but never owned a turtle before
:any advice is much appreciated
