Redfoot Outdoor Pen...

Hi,

I am in the process of creating an outdoor enclosure for my adult redfoot tortoise. I know that box turtles have to have some sort of wire mesh put in the ground a foot deep or so, so they will not dig themselves out.
What about the redfoots? Would this big fella be able to escape by digging/burrowing? Would he not bother?
