I flake some off, soak it with the mazuri, and mush it together.

After soaking the consistency of the hay is much smoother, and doesn't stand out as much in the mazuri.

The whole idea is to make the hay inconspicuous. Small amounts at first that he wouldn't notice, and then a little more later on.
