: : : this is my second posting, is there anybody out there that knows if it is legal ot own a tortoise in NJ,
: : : thanks
: : I'm a NJ native living in Florida now. NJ sucks BIG TIME for certain things. Their wildlife laws are one thing I mostly disagree with. Sorry you cannot own a tortoise legally in NJ :(((
: : Matt
: Sorry Matt, but you're wrong about this...I've owned a redfooted tort here in NJ for many years and applied for and received a permit for him from the NJDEP Exotic & Non-game Species division for $10./year. What you cannot do legally is buy or sell turtles in this state. But this is currently under consideration, and in just about every contiguous state..PA, NY allow the sale of turtles.
