The romaine is not a problem, but it is not a help, either. Nobody ever gets my point about it. Why would you give romaine or other lettuces when you could feed something else that is full of nutrition, less $ and just as available? Everything fed to captive reptiles should count, as does there natural forage in the wild.
I still say the best domestic diet is yard graze. if your in the desert, buy grass seeds at the local nursery and water alot or get the weed seeds sold at turtlestuff .com or similar sites.
I often see advertisements for radiated or aldabra or other rare expensive hatchlings on the kingsnake classified, showing them eating romain. Talk about starting a nutritional deficiancy! I would not buy those animals for a small % of their worth.
