I read a suggestion somewhere that if one of my turtles or Virgil got sick to take that book to the vet with me. Particularly since there are not reptile specialists closeby. Depending on what you're looking for, there's lots of color photos, common illnesses/treatments, descriptions of turts/torts and their habitats, etc.
