If you want to separate them soon, you can pick up a large rubbermaid bin with lots of floor space from a place like Lowe's, or maybe even wal-mart. I just had to invest in a bunch of these tubs and some bags of topsoil for my boxies, as I recently moved and haven't even gotten started on the yard and pens yet (who would've though buying a house and moving was such a hassle, LOL).
Your russian will probably handle the weather outdoors year round just fine, provided you make sure the area is draining well and stays dry, and give it a raised house to hide in during rainy weather (hopefully with a heat pad or ceramic heat element in a dome fixture).
The hingeback won't take those winters, and the hottest parts of the summer might be a bit much, but if you provide some deep shade (deep shade is shade by trees, shrubs, grasses, lots of layers of items blocking the sun, and blocking it from many angles to keep it cooler), and run sprinklers whenever it begins to get dry in it's pen. This makes it easier if you have a large pen, so you have more room for the plants and sprinklers to work. Under deep vegetation layers, some piles of mulch and leaf litter will help make moist dark places to hide.
