It's a preformed pond, normally it would be too deep at about 6 inches, but we put large stones so it's only a couple 2 to 3 inches deep. (Don't try smaller pebbles, not only did she dig them up and make getting out difficult, but she tried to eat them) Got it at Lowe's (a local hardware store since I don't know if they have them all around the country)It's sunk into the ground, but can be lifted and dumped for cleaning. Kind of a pain, but you know how hard it is to find something suitable. Besides, what are 15 year old sons for?
I was quite pleased with the hill idea until I started having nightmares of her tumbling down and landing upside down. We all watched her like a hawk for a long time, but she hasn't had any incidents at all. She really isn't too interested in mountain climbing, but to discourage it, there is the little brush pile (also hides the opuntia I'm attempting to grow there)which has worked really well.
