No, it was not a bad idea, and no the vet was not negligent.
I would describe the 'allergy' of G. pardalis and G. elegans to baytril as 'oversensitive rather than allergy - the symptomps are relatively mild and disappear fast - NO DEATH has been recorded from these side-effects. The Enrofloxacin does it job even though the animals suffer a little more than other animals on Baytril.
