Egyptian tortoises are the smallest species that are readily available. I got a 2 1/2" captive born egyptian last month for considerably less than $500. Russians are probably the next smaller available species, followed by Greeks, Hermanns, & Marginated. I have no idea where the Star & Spider tortoises, or the hingbacks fit into this size comparison. Sulcata (African Spur) & leopards get fairly large.
Go to Kingsnake Classifieds & look at all of the different types available.
