It depends. They normally go through a natural progression. I recently found out that this progression is not consistant. That is I have two groups of leopards that normally hatch out at 90 or so days and I have another that has eggs that hatch out in 150 or so days. (at the same temperature) Normal progression is a 'polar' cap advancing around the egg until it is totally chalked. (not a rule) The Testudo eggs do this from a band in the center of the egg progressing to each end.
