It'll be Ok. The toad is nocturnal except when you water the pen. The secretions, I think, are only harmful to mammals. Your tortoise would have to try to eat it to get it to release its foul tasting secretions. You don't see many tortoises eating animals. If he happens to develop a taste for animals, watch out for your fingers:)

: Toads have a very toxic secretion on their skin.I am definatly no expert,but my dog had an encounter with one a month ago and he was very ill.He was foaming at the mouth and his eyes were closed.I would be careful that Teddy doesn't come in contact with it.Just my opinion.
