Humidity is a requirement for red foots. I have read different theories about what levels to keep them, but 70% sounds about right. There are a few ways to maintain this level of humidity during the winter months. I use a large wading pool in the enclosure, combined with a timed fogger. The fogger releases so much fog that I only have to leave it on for a short period of time and it keeps the humidity as high as I need it to be. I also soak my red foots every morning for about 10-15 minutes. They drink every morning when I put them in the soaking tub(though they have access to water all day long), and they usually eat a little bit and then poo in the tub. I've found this to be a good morning practice because I get to observe them closely on a regular basis, to observe their habits and such. Besides offering hydration, soaking also helps keep them nice and clean.
Yes, humidity is important to the Red Foot.
