Find someone in your state, or you will need a USDA Permit. Hopefully you are in a state that the chelonian can adapt to and live outdoors, because they tend to grow much faster in captivity.
1. Between 2 and 10,000.00 dollars.
2. Between 100 to 300 dollars per month to provide a proper diet.
3. Between 1 to 8 thousand dollars to furnish your acre of land with the correct nutritional flora so the animal can thrive for the next 170 years.
You may want to take the conservitive approach and adopt a sulcata. They also require alot of space and attention.
My biggest sulcata costs me $100.00 per montgh in supplementary dining.
