Good Idea on how to get Mazuri in your Tortoise's Stomach!!!

I came up with a good idea on how to use Mazuri Tortoise Diet with tortoises that are of the smaller variety. These smaller tortoises have a hard time eating the Mazuri without having it soaked or broken up into smaller pieces. I want my tortoises to have the benefit of Mazuri so what I did was this:

1) I filled up a zip lock bag with Mazuri and put the bag inside a towel. I hit the towel on cement with a hammer to break up the Mazuri just a little bit.

2) I pour the broken pieces into an old coffee grinder I have and turn it on to it's finest setting.

3) Out comes pulverized Mazuri!

4) I put it in a salt shaker and sprinkle it over all the food!

Another helpful hint is to mist the food with water so the Mazuri you sprinkle on sticks to the food. That way the tortoise is bound to get some of that good stuff in it's mouth. I had also tried putting the Mazuri in an old food processor and it didn't work quite so well. The coffee grinder worked great though!

Now for my next experiment....Mazuri Coffee! Mmmmmm Good!
