: To keep one of these primarily indoors what size enclosure would I need? Also- would I buy the enclosure that it would live it`s live out in, or are they size specific. I`ve been reading care sheets and such, just a couple questions is all.
buy the largest enclosure you can afford (and fit in your space.) Glass tanks aren't so great for a number of reasons, including the high cost of getting a large one and the difficulty of cleaning it out. If you are handy with tools you could make something out of plywood. If not try getting a stock tank (watering trough) or a kiddie wading pool or the largest rubbermaid tub you can find. Try to give the tort at least 8 square feet of space. No need to buy an enclosure for each phase of the tort's life.
: Thanks for your time.
: ps- just how large are these fully grown anyways?
I have 5 adult russians ranging from 4.5 to 6.5 inches in shell length. From what I've read they can get up to 8 (Maybe 9) inches. Body weights for my guys range from 1 to 2.4 pounds.
: No I haven`t purchased yet- RESEARCH.. then purchase. =)
