old set-up: 20 gallon tank with day and night heat lamps and UV light. woodchip substrate, water bowl, food bowl, flat rocks to climb on and thick plant to hide under

new setup: kiddie swimming pool filled with play sand. Heat lamps and UV hanging above, temp ranges from 85 to 70. There's two plants to hide under, one live pothose he can eat, a pot to hide under, a flat rock to bask, water bowl, and food bowl.

He hibernated 3 1/2 months, woke up in March. He ate for a couple days then quit and we haven't noticed him eat or any food gone from his bowl since then.

He is very active in the new enclosure. He has never been outside cause it has been winter the whole time we've had him, we're in Wisconsin.

He is offered beans, peas, carrots, corn (all cut up), different greens, tortoise food pellets (moistened), occational fruit...and other veggies were tried if they were in the house.

He used to eat beans...his favorite. but if they were taken away, he didn't eat much...but at least he did. That was before hibernation. He was very sluggish so we thought he needed to hibernate.

He is only a small one so the pool gives him lots of room. This is getting urgent since we woke up in March and it is now June! Could it be an illness? Or is he just very picky?
