: Incase it got lost in the shuffle:
: Just a quick question. My sulcata is a summer baby, 2001. An early july hatch I think. When I purchased him/her in August, 2001 she measured in at 2 3/8 of an inch (carapace length, end to end on a straight line.) Aesop is now 3 3/4 of an inch. Is that too fast? He seems to grow in bursts. His shell is not smooth, but I wouldn't say there is any drastic pyramiding. His temps are good, gets outside plenty, UVa bulb and UVb tube when he is inside (weather dependent,) eats Turtle Cafe mix and greens, with the occasional fruit and veggie. Isn't a big fan of cactus yet. Won't touch cuttle bone, but loves to eat dirt(?!) Did I say quick question? Anyways, any critiques or comments? A little progress report and review for myself.
: Thanks again,
: Ryan
Who's to say what is right? Virgil was 3 months old when I got him and was 2 1/4" long. He's now 1 3/4 years old and 3 1/2" long. Never a sick day, relatively nice shell. Some very slightly raised flat spots, no points. Niki's Teddy was much larger than Virgil at this age. Who knows why? Niki has a growth chart for Teddy and a couple of others. Why not ask her directly? Use her name, maybe she hasn't seen your post.
