A vet visit is in order. These guys are very active and outgoing as a rule. If it's spending an abnormal amount of time in the shell there is a good sign something is wrong. The next time you soak it try and get a fecal sample. If it is firm and well formed chances are that it is not parasites, if not, a vet vistit is definately in order.
