The water dish in the pen should not be placed under high heat, it should be in the cooler area of the pen.

You should also be soaking the tortoise frequently during the week, in order to provide the fluids it needs. They do not get what they need from food, and they do need water.

: Hi, i was wondering what are the symptons of dehydration because my tortoise doesn't usually have 24/7 access to water, but i've had him for a while now.. does he get water from his food? or does he just not need any water, because he seems very healthy. (if ur wondering, he's 2 small for a big water container, and it always drys up due to high heat). I am concerned, but probably shouldn't be any responses are apreciated.
