when I saw the title I thought it was going to be a stab at how heavy the sulcata's can get.
I haven't seen a crane around here yet. Perhaps near areas with natural water bodies, like lakes and ponds, but around the area of our place there isn't any that I know of. We aren't too far from the river.
I know cranes could eat a baby, but not sure about adults. They do make a sensor water shooter thingy for hosing nuisance birds that come to your pond. I'm not sure how it works, but I've seen it on pond websites. Another option is to put up posts, and run twine between them. I understand that visible strings in the way deter a number of birds...
