Hello Roy,
I keep both cherry heads and normal redfoots. Most of the "Dwarf" Cherry heads I have seen have been less than 10 inches. There is another variety of Cherry head that gets quite large. I would recommend asking to see photographs of the adults before purchasing. Also, you should be able to tell the difference between normals and cherries by looking at the plastron. True cherries have dark plastrons while normals have light colored plastrons with dark markings in the center. I can recommend Gulf Coast Reptiles as a source for some quality Dwarf Cherry heads. They are the Paraguayan variety. I currently have 2 that are close to adult size that I purchased from them several years ago. I am also waiting to purchase a couple more from them as soon as they hatch, which should be any time. Contact them and ask for Chris, the owner. You won't be disappointed in the quality. You can contact them through the classifieds as they currently have some Bolivian Redfoot hatchlings for sale. I hope this information helps.
Take Care,
Jeff
: oh...also how do i distinguis a cherry head from a normal red foot when they are babies?
