the several floor idea sounds good, but really isn't. You would need to have each lever at a slow inlcine, which would take quite a bit of space to do, you'd also need some kind of a gaurd on either side of the ramp so that is can't fall off. What you should do is have your parents keep the torts and have them make a nice large outdoor enclosure, and give them your old room as their new room. If that is not possible, then you should consider having someone else take them off your hands. You need to get them out of that tank NOW, they shouldn't have been in that EVER, tanks are NOT good for sulcatas at all, low ventilation, high humidity, and greenhouse temps aren't good. Even if you have a large walk in closet, it would be better than a tank for them. Do you understand the size these guys will reach? Do you have a plan for them when they reach that size?
: I have 2 sulcata torts and I want to make them a larger home than their current 40 gallon breeder. I will be moving to collage in 1 yr and want to take them with me, so whatever I make needs to remain small for the most part. I would like to make them a cage with several floors and on the top floor want to have a tortoise table type enviroment. Any clues on how to do this? I also need to try and keep the cost down. I am only 16 and do not yet work, but I have $100 saved up that I am plannin to spend on the cage. My parents help me with the vet bills and I grow their own food, so.... can anyone suggest anything? BTW my torts are 2.5 yrs old and are rougphly 7 inces from head to tail. thanks for any help
