Cherry Heads are quite a bit smaller than a standard redfoot. From what I remember, about 8" vs. 12-18". As far as telling them apart when they're babies, I don't know that you can. Getting one from a reputable breeder would be a good place to start.
I've seen redfoots priced from $65 to $150 on Kingsnake classifieds & cherry heads are usually about $50 to $100 more.
