THEY ARE ABOUT 4 INCHES, BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT KIND THYE ARE. I LIVE I SOUTHERN CALIFOINA, IN THE VALLY. SHOULD I SET UP A FENCE SO THEY WONT GO NEAR THE PLANTS THAT HAVE FERTILIZER
