Hi Mike,
Congratulations on your babies! We got our Leopards when they were about 5-7 yrs old. They were on a poor diet and have some pyramiding as a result.
As Terry and the others mentioned, get him on a wider variety of greens and try to mix in some grasses now so he'll get used to them. Vit/ Cal supplement
is good.
Check out http://tortoiseaid.org and also Turtlestuff.com
Annie Lancaster is the director of Tortoise Aid and has alot of
great info on her site. They also have seeds for grasses etc on
turtlestuff. There is also the Tortoise Trust site that Andy Highfield has and there
are some great articles on there as well.
Don't give them any fruit! That was one of the problems with our kids. They
were getting strawberries everyday! The sugar is not good for them.
Another thing we found that is good is grape leaves. We planted a Thompson seedless grape (white grapes)
just to get the leaves. They are "drier" than some of the grocery store greens and also alittle higher
in fiber. The kids love them! We give ours veggies like different types of squash and okra, too. Our
female will eat anything that won't eat her first! They only thing that all of our torts have literally
spit out is Swiss Chard!
Good luck!
