Iīm from Croatia and I live in Zadar- a small town on Adriatic sea, without any veterinarian who knows anything about turtles.
I have two land turtles (Testudo Hermanni Boettgeri), one small and the other bigger.
Smaller one is about 13 cm long and about 2 years old.
One week from now, that little one becomes very sick in very short period of time- in just two days he (itīs male) becomes completely weak. He stops to move around and he lost all his strenght so now he cannot move at all. At monday I called veterinarian in one other city and he suggested, from my description, that my turt have pneumonia and that he must recieve some antibiotics (Baytril). So he told me the dose and I went to veterinarian here and he gave him that throughout the past week.
He also recieved one shot of AD3E vitamine, and today one B complex and one B 12.
My wife and I started to feed him with syringe, but just liquidised vegetables because he can barely swallow even that.
So now after 6 days, he is still in that same poor condition, and I (and a veterinarian also) dont have a clue why.. question is off couse, if this is right therapy or not ?
So if anybody can help my, suggested something or give my some link or email address of someone who might know something, I will be very grateful.
Itīs very hard to wait for something and do nothing to help him in the meantime,
Thank you
