Basicly the opinion comes from personal experience and the observerd experience of others. You can take a redfoot and place it in a container and give it the basic needs of heat hydration, and food and it will thrive. Not so with a Box turtle. I don't know what it is but the Box turtle seems to require an elaborate setup to thrive at the same level indoors.
